Álida Ares Ares is an author of historical fiction, originally from Lugo, Spain. She is known for her work "Las hijas del Cid" (The Daughters of El Cid), which won the Hispania Historical Fiction Prize in 2023. Before dedicating herself to writing, she worked in teaching. Her passion for history led her to research and reconstruct past eras through her novels.
