Hennessy

Peter Hennessy (born in 1947) is a renowned British historian and academic specializing in the history and functioning of British government and institutions. He is the author of numerous influential books, including "Whitehall" and "The Secret State". Professor Emeritus of Contemporary British History at Queen Mary, University of London, he is an authority on the UK's unwritten constitution and modern systems of government. He was appointed to the House of Lords in 2010 as Baron Hennessy of Nympsfield.
