Homero Aridjis (Contepec, Michoacán, 1940) is a Mexican poet, novelist, essayist, chronicler, environmental activist, and diplomat. He served as Mexico's ambassador to Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and UNESCO. He is the author of more than 50 books, translated into various languages. He is known for his poetic work, his novels, and his environmental activism, having founded the Group of 100. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his literary career and his conservation efforts.
