Alonso de Villegas

Alonso de Villegas (1534-1603) was a Spanish writer and humanist of the Golden Age. A clergyman and canon of Toledo Cathedral, he is mainly known for his work "El Fénix" (1588), a collection of saints' lives and moral fables. He also wrote religious dramatic works.
