Joaquín Escriche (1784-1847) was a Spanish jurist born in Valencia. A lawyer, professor of natural law, and magistrate, he is mainly known for his work "Diccionario razonado de legislación y jurisprudencia", published in 1838, which became a fundamental reference in the Hispanic legal field.
