John Money

John Money was a New Zealand-American psychologist, sexologist, and author, known for his work in the field of sexology, especially in gender identity and intersexuality. He coined the terms "gender identity" and "gender role," and was an influential figure in the discussion of the social construction of gender. He worked at Johns Hopkins University. His research, particularly the case of David Reimer (the "John/Joan case"), generated controversy and was subject to significant criticism for its implications and outcomes.
