John Schofield

John Schofield is a British archaeologist and academic, known for his work in urban archaeology and its application to heritage management. He was Chief Archaeologist at the Museum of London between 1991 and 2008, where he directed numerous excavations and research projects. He has held teaching positions at the University of Southampton and University College London. His research interests include the archaeology of London, archaeological heritage management, and the history of urban archaeology. He has written and edited several books and articles on these topics.
