José Antonio Ardanza Garro (Elorrio, Biscay, 1941) is a Spanish politician from the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV). He was lehendakari (president) of the Basque Government from 1985 to 1999, becoming the longest-serving lehendakari. Previously, he held the positions of Minister of Transport and Communications of the Basque Government and Deputy General of Biscay. After his retirement from active politics, he has been linked to various companies and organizations, such as the presidency of Euskaltel.
