José Güell y Renté (Havana, June 28, 1818 - Madrid, December 18, 1892) was a Cuban-Spanish politician, writer, and journalist. A Law graduate, he moved to Spain in 1843. He entered into a morganatic marriage with Infanta Josefa Fernanda de Borbón. He was a deputy to the Cortes and a senator for life, in addition to holding diplomatic posts. His work includes theatrical pieces, poetry, and essays.
