Ana María Freire López

Ana María Freire López is a Spanish philologist and professor, specializing in Spanish Golden Age literature, particularly in the work of Francisco de Quevedo. Holding a PhD in Romance Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid, she has developed a large part of her academic career as a professor of Spanish Literature at the National University of Distance Education (UNED), where she has also served as dean of the Faculty of Philology and vice-rector. She is a renowned researcher and critical editor of classical texts, author of numerous studies and monographs on 17th-century Spanish poetry and prose, being one of the foremost authorities on Quevedo's work. She has edited various anthologies and complete works, and has directed research projects on Golden Age literature. She is a member of the International Association of Hispanists and has received several awards for her research and teaching work.
