José Joaquín Salazar Franco (Medellín, 1928 - Cali, 2011) was a Colombian writer, journalist, and poet. He stood out for his career in cultural journalism and for his poetic work, which was recognized with several awards. He founded and directed literary magazines and was a member of the Colombian Academy of Language. His poetry was characterized by its lyrical depth and its approach to existential and social themes. Among his works are "Poems of the House" and "Of My Love for Poetry". He also ventured into literary criticism and essay writing.
