José María Sbarbi y Osuna

José María Sbarbi y Osuna (Loja, Granada, 1834 - Madrid, 1910) was a Spanish priest, writer, lexicographer, philologist, paremiologist, and bibliographer. Canon of the Collegiate Church of San Isidro in Madrid. He is known for his vast lexicographical and paremiological work, notably his Dictionary of proverbs, adages, maxims, idioms, locutions, and proverbial phrases of the Spanish language and El refranero general español.
