José Tomás de Cuéllar (Mexico City, 1830 - 1894) was a Mexican novelist, journalist, playwright, and lawyer. He was known for his costumbrista novels, especially the series "La linterna mágica" (The Magic Lantern), in which he portrayed Mexican society of his time. He wrote under the pseudonym "Facundo."
