Juan de Pineda

Juan de Pineda was a 16th-century Spanish writer and humanist, known primarily for his work "Los Treinta Libros de la Monarquía Eclesiástica" (1588-1592), an extensive ecclesiastical history spanning from creation to his time. He also wrote "La Historia de la Iglesia y del Mundo" (1570). Born in Écija, Seville province, around 1515, he joined the Order of Saint Jerome in the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo. He dedicated himself to the study of the Holy Scriptures, the Church Fathers, and history. His work is valued for its erudition and his attempt to compile the theological and historical knowledge of his era. He died in 1593.
