Kristoffer Nyrop (1858-1931) was a Danish philologist, specializing in Romance languages. He was a professor of Romance philology at the University of Copenhagen from 1894 to 1928. He is known for his studies on the history of the French language and his monumental work "Grammaire historique de la langue française," published in six volumes between 1898 and 1930. He also conducted research on folklore and literature.
