Julio Trebolle Barrera is a Spanish historian and Hebraist, emeritus professor of Biblical Philology at Complutense University of Madrid. He was born in Cantalapiedra, Salamanca, in 1941. He is a renowned international specialist in the Hebrew texts of the Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. He has directed the School of Biblical and Oriental Studies in Jerusalem and his notable works include "The Jewish Bible and the Christian Bible" and "The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Bible". His work is fundamental for understanding the origins of Judaism and Christianity.
