Kenneth Martin Follett is a British novelist born on June 5, 1949, in Cardiff, Wales. He studied philosophy at University College London. He began his career as a journalist and later worked for a publishing house. His first internationally successful novel was "Eye of the Needle" (La clave está en Rebeca) in 1978. He is widely known for his espionage thrillers and, above all, for his historical novels, notably the Kingsbridge series, which includes "The Pillars of the Earth" (Los pilares de la Tierra) and "World Without End" (Un mundo sin fin), as well as the "Century" trilogy. His books are characterized by extensive historical research and complex, engrossing plots.
