Synopsis

"Ken Follett has done it once more . . . goes down with the ease and impact of a well-prepared martini." —New York Times Book Review Feliks, a figure shrouded in mystery and deadly intent, arrived in the bustling heart of London. His presence was a harbinger of cataclysmic change, for his singular mission was to execute an assassination meticulously planned to irrevocably alter the course of human history. A truly formidable adversary, Feliks was not merely an assassin but a strategic genius, a master manipulator with an arsenal of hidden weapons and cunning psychological tactics at his disposal. Yet, his audacious plan would not go unchallenged. Arrayed against him stood the full might of the English police force, an intelligent and influential lord whose reach extended deep into the corridors of power, and the formidable, rising political star, young Winston Churchill himself, each determined to thwart his sinister design. Such overwhelming odds, a veritable gauntlet of formidable opponents and impenetrable defenses, would undoubtedly have brought any lesser man to his knees, forcing him to abandon his perilous quest. But Feliks was no ordinary man. He was the unwavering, utterly ruthless individual from St. Petersburg, whose resolve was as unyielding as iron, destined to press forward regardless of the obstacles.
